Gameweek 12 FPL midfield picks

Players have returned to their club sides after the international break and several big names are injured for Fantasy Premier League gameweek 12. Mangers’ FPL midfield picks for gameweek 12 may have to be changed based on those injuries.

Eden Hazard, Philippe Coutinho and Adam Lallana have both come back hurt. Picking a team around those injuries can be difficult, but it must be done. Who gets into FantasySports.co.uk’s team this week? Let’s find out.

Alexis Sanchez – Arsenal

Games: 11; Goals: 6; Total FPL points: 72

With Hazard and Coutinho out, FPL managers’ hands around the globe may have been forced to start Alexis Sanchez. That is, if they weren’t going to start the Chilean to begin with.

Sanchez is up against Manchester United this weekend which could prove a tough task for the Gunners. However, United have a very suspect defence this season, and Sanchez and company are hoping for a big day at Old Trafford.

After gameweek 12’s clash with Manchester United, Arsenal should have some smooth sailing.

Roberto Firmino – Liverpool

Games: 10; Goals: 5; Total FPL points: 67

Looking at Roberto Firmino’s price tag, the Brazilian would only cost an FPL manager £8.7 million for gameweek 12. That’s a bargain compared to his contemporaries.

Liverpool’s favourable fixtures list continues this week with a trip to Southampton. The Saints have lost two straight and Liverpool are riding high. If Coutinho  (75% chance of playing) and Lallana (50% chance of playing) are injured, Firmino will have far more responsibilities in front of goal for the Reds in gameweek 12.

Kevin De Bruyne – Manchester City

Games: 10; Assists: 8; Total FPL points: 62

The Premier League’s assist leader Kevin De Bruyne looks like a healthy choice for FPL gameweek 12. The Manchester City man is going up against Crystal Palace this weekend.

The Selhurst Park side have lost four straight and Alan Pardew’s job is looking very precarious. City’s fixture list will get more difficult at the beginning of December, but until then, De Bruyne looks worthy of a slot in your FPL team.

Joe Allen – Stoke City

Games: 11; Goals: 4; Total FPL points: 56

Joe Allen is an FPL bargain at £5.4m this week. Yes, he is coming off of a one point performance against West Ham in gameweek 11.

However, this time around against Bournemouth, expect more from Allen as he leads a rejuvenated Stoke against the Cherries. Allen’s big points totals are not finished this season and gameweek 12 should prove he is an excellent FPL midfield choice.

Pedro – Chelsea

Games: 10; Assists: 5; Total FPL points: 47

Pedro unexpectedly tallied big numbers in two of the last three gameweeks. Perhaps it is unexpected due to the Spaniard rarely playing a full 90 minutes.

In fact, Pedro is yet to play a full match and has been used as a substitute for much of the season. Think of him as a wildcard.

However, with Hazard having a 75% chance at playing against Middlesbrough on Sunday, Pedro could be the creative spark in the side.

Gameweek 11’s 16 point output was his best of the season. An encore could be in the works from the Spaniard as Chelsea travel north to play at the Riverside Stadium.
