Tottenham come from behind at Manchester City

Tottenham came from behind to draw 2-2 with Manchester City in gameweek 22. Leroy Sane and Kevin De Bruyne put Manchester City up by two goals before the hour mark in front of the club’s hometown fans.

However, Tottenham fought back, getting goals from the in-form Dele Alli and Korean hitman Son Heung-Min.

Pep Guardiola’s men are now winless in three of their last four matches. Just as importantly, it was another match in which forward Sergio Aguero went missing in a big game.

Tottenham’s Hugo Lloris made two errors during the match and both led to Manchester City goals.

The Tottenham goalkeeper was still able to tally two Fantasy Premier League points, but his credentials may have been hurt as one of FPL’s top goalkeepers.

The draw keeps Manchester City in fifth, while Tottenham fall to third behind Arsenal.

Liverpool 2-3 Swansea

If Liverpool’s chances of winning the English Premier League weren’t finished, they are now. The Reds gave up two goals to Swansea forward Fernando Llorente just before the hour mark.

Liverpool’s poor defending cost them dearly on both goals as Llorente showed flashes of what made him so promising at Athletic Bilbao some years ago.

Liverpool got back into the contest through two Roberto Firmino goals, with the second being the pick of the litter. The midfielder chested down Georginio Wijnaldum’s cross and struck it sublimely on the half-volley.

The Reds’ euphoria was short lived as Swansea found a winner through Gylfi Sigurdsson. The Swansea midfielder pounced on a loose ball after more poor Liverpool defending.

The loss drops Liverpool to fourth, while Swansea are now out of the relegation zone.

Stoke 1-1 Manchester United

Manchester United escaped Stoke with a 1-1 draw. The Potters have been a bogey team for United in recent time, and gameweek 22’s 1-1 result was more evidence of the team’s confidence against the Red Devils.

Stoke took a first half lead thanks to a Juan Mata’s own goal and then proceeded to hold Manchester United for 71 minutes.

However, Wayne Rooney played spoiler as his free-kick in the fourth minute of stoppage-time gave Manchester United a share of the points.

Arsenal 2-1 Burnley

Arsenal moved into second place with a 2-1 win over Burnley at the Emirates. But just like in their previous meeting this season, the Gunners needed a second half stoppage-time goal to win it.

Shkodran Mustafi opened the scoring for Arsenal with a low strike in the 59th minute. However, Burnley’s Andre Gray equalised two minutes into second half stoppage-time from the penalty spot.

Unbelievably, Arsenal were awarded a penalty just minutes later and Fantasy Premier League points leader Alexis Sanchez stroked home the winner.

Chelsea 2-0 Hull

Diego Costa marked his return from injury with a goal in Chelsea’s 2-0 win over Hull to finish out gameweek 22’s action. The Spaniard is currently second behind Zlatan Ibrahimovic for total points in Fantasy Premier League.

Fantasy surprise Victor Moses set up Costa’s goal as he returned eight points over the weekend.

Gary Cahill added the second goal from a header and solidified his place at the top of the Fantasy Premier League defenders list. The centre-back put in a 15 point performance as Chelsea won easily at Stamford Bridge.
