Gameweek 31 FPL – 5 must buys for midweek action

premier league, fantasy football, fpl, fantasy sports

Gameweek 31 FPL is a midweek dose of English Premier League action. Things kickoff on Tuesday night and continue into Wednesday as the season makes its way to the end. With the cluster of matches for gameweek 31 and 32, FantasySports.co.uk is here to give your Fantasy Premier League and daily fantasy sports team a boost.

Danny Simpson – Leicester City

Total FPL points: 66; GW 30: 15 points

Leicester defender Danny Simpson comes into gameweek 31 FPL in fine form. The defender tallied 15 points a week ago and with Leicester’s resurgence, should do a job for the Foxes in midweek. Leicester take on bottom of the table Sunderland. The Black Cats have lost four of five matches and have not scored in either of those five games.

Simpson is a great shout for gameweek 31 FPL and DFS managers; just £4.8 will get him in your team.

Gareth McAuley – West Brom

Total FPL points: 120; GW 30: 8 points

We have been a fan of West Brom defender Gareth McAuley all season. The Baggies’ centre-back as been steady in a solid West Brom side. Ten times this season McAuley has tallied seven or more FPL points.

The Baggies are coming off of a clean sheet draw with Manchester United. The defender has the potential to put together another solid points return.

Zlatan Ibrahimovic – Manchester United

Total FPL points: 144; GW 30: 0 points

Manchester United forward Zlatan Ibrahimovic has missed out on the team’s last two fixtures: a win and a draw. The last time Ibrahimovic faced Everton, he tallied seven points in a 1-1 draw. Forward options in gameweek 31 FPL’s first night action are a bit slim, but Ibrahimovic offers plenty of goal potential for your team.

Jamie Vardy – Leicester

Total FPL points: 106; GW 30: 7 points

Jamie Vardy has really picked up his play since the sacking of Leicester coach Claudio Rainier. The Englishman has scored four goals in his last five matches, totalling 36 points in those five games combined. Around one-third of Vardy’s FPL points have come in the last five gameweeks.

Sunderland and their 51 goals conceded record are up on Tuesday night in gameweek 31 FPL action. Vardy is worth a spot, but Leicester do have Everton and Arsenal to follow. Leicester will also resume their Champions League commitments on April 12.

Joe Allen – Stoke City

Total FPL points: 105; GW 30: 2 points

Call it a hunch or a completely stupid idea, but Joe Allen sticks out of the pack for gameweek 31 FPL. Sure, he was the darling of FPL and DFS earlier this term, but he has faded greatly. Allen’s last great performance came against Crystal Palace in gameweeek 25 when he tallied nine points.

Stoke are four points better off in the table than Burnley, but in terms of goals allowed and scored they are relatively the same. Stoke have shown indifferent form throughout the season and could be classed as one of the Premier League’s most under performing teams.

Allen has potential to get back in-form. Unfortunately, he has played a lot of football this season.
