Chelsea striker Alvaro Morata will be out two months with devastating injury

Chelsea striker Alvaro Morata will be sidelined for two months with a hamstring injury. The injury occurred in Chelsea’s 1-0 loss to Manchester City over the weekend.

Morata limped off the pitch during Chelsea’s clash with Manchester City. The Spanish striker left midway through the first half. The striker has been brilliant since he arrived from Real Madrid, but the club will be without their No. 9 for two months now.

Chelsea striker Alvaro Morata scores goals

Morata has scored six goals in seven games for Chelsea in the Premier League this term. The player leads the way in goals for the team. Chelsea lacked firepower on Saturday in their loss to Manchester City after Morata left the game.

Morata also scored in last week’s Champions League fixture against Atletico Madrid, as the Blues defeat the Spanish side in Madrid.

Big game striker

Morata has proven many wrong this season, and he has shown he is a big game player. The Blues may not have him back until the busy holiday football time. While he is injured, Chelsea will play twice against Roma in the Champions League, and against Manchester United and Liverpool in the Premier League.

“It’s a muscular problem,” Chelsea manager Antonio Conte said.“I don’t think it’s a serious problem because he stopped. He said he would prefer to stop and not risk a bad injury.

“The doctor now has to check the situation but I don’t think he’s available for the national team.”

Morata could be back in time for Chelsea’s return Champions League match against Atletico Madrid on December 5.
