Manchester United’s Andreas Pereira could have Valencia loan cancelled

Manchester United’s Andreas Pereira may be a rising star with the English Premier League club, but he hasn’t won over the fans and media of Valencia. Pereira is currently on loan with the Spanish side until June 2018. However, the midfielder’s performances have been called into question by fans, local media and team officials.

What’s the problem with Andreas Pereira

Valencia are third in La Liga currently, and have played well thus far this term. However, Pereira’s performances have not been up to standard. Pereira started Valencia’s first two matches this season, but was dropped from the team after indifferent performances. He was once again recalled for Valencia’s 3-2 win over Athletic Bilbao just before the international break. However, he once again disappointed fans, and the local Valencia media highly criticised his play once more.

Andreas Pereira has ‘shined least’

According to Deporte Valenciano, Pereira has been the least effective player signed by the club last summer. That statement smacks in the face of the club’s original desire to land the highly sought after midfielder.

It is believed Pereira will return to the bench for Valencia’s next fixture against Real Betis. His recent return to the starting XI was due to Geoffrey Kondogbia’s suspension, and it is thought he will play a back-up role unless needed to cover for injured or suspended players for the rest of the season.

Manchester United return?

There is a chance the loan could be cancelled in January, which would allow Pereira to return to Manchester United. Jose Mourinho is extremely high on the player, and was against letting him leave on loan. Mourinho may decide to recall him from loan if Pereira’s development is stunted in Spain.

Despite his poor play, Andreas Pereira did this cheeky chip in training recently.
