Manchester United’s Andreas Pereira finally got off the goal scoring mark for his current club Valencia. The Spanish side won a goal-fest against Real Betis, 6-3, on Sunday night.
Manchester United’s future star?
The Portuguese midfielder is currently on loan with Spanish side Valencia. However, his time at the club has not been a complete success.
Pereira has been under constant criticism from fans and local Valencia media. The criticism was so bad, it was believed Pereira could be recalled from his loan by Jose Mourinho.
Changing opinion
Although it has just been one match since much of the criticism was levelled at the youngster, Pereira showed his class in Sunday’s performance against Betis. He came on in the 75th minute and scored his first goal for the club 15 minutes later. Pereira’s screamer has made many hopeful he can be the highly rated player the team recruited last summer.
Surprise package
Valencia have been a surprise package in La Liga. Currently second, Valencia have not lost this term. Los Che have also taken points off both Real Madrid and Atletico Madrid. This season was expected to be a rebuilding year. However, manager Marcelino has an exciting team that is achieving more than was first expected.
