58% of Liverpool fans want Philippe Coutinho to stay at Anfield

According to the ECHO, 58% of Liverpool fans surveyed want Philippe Coutinho to remain at Anfield until the summer transfer window. Those same fans are happy to see the Brazilian leave for Barcelona following the completion of the current season, however.

The ECHO’s website surveyed 4,000 Liverpool fans on what the club should do with Coutinho. The vast majority want Liverpool to keep the playmaker, but sell him to Barcelona in July. Meanwhile, 24.3% of Liverpool fans want to see the Reds cash-in on him now and re-invest the money into new players.

The ECHO also asked supporters how much money the Reds should demand for Coutinho. Over 52% of respondents voted that Barcelona should pay £150 million or more for Coutinho. The player’s contract runs until 2022, and he just signed a new contract in the winter of 2017.

When Liverpool fans were asked which player they wanted as Coutinho’s replacement, nearly 45% voted for Monaco’s Thomas Lemar. Over 20% of voters selected Arsenal’s Alexis Sanchez and nearly 9% voted for Borussia Dortmund’s American wunderkind Christian Pulisic.

While fans have had their say via the ECHO’s website. Plenty of fans and members of the media have expressed their thoughts, news and opinions on Coutinho through social media. Have Your Say
